Born and raised in New York City, Garin Baker graduated from Pratt Institute. He went on to establish a career as a freelance artist and illustrator. To date, he has done well over 300 book covers, worked on major advertising campaigns and has had several group and one person shows. He's won several awards for his work and many of his paintings are in corporate and private collections. Garin began working as a muralist several years ago when a friend and colleague was designing and building a children's museum. Since then his passion for mural painting has grown to include clients such as Sony Theaters and Planet Hollywood.

Garin moved to the Hudson Valley several years ago. The area, rich with history and great landscapes made this move a natural. With the help of many, Garin has built Carriage House Art Studios, as a place where clients, artists, teachers and students can create with passion and vitality.
